Etiquette Tips - Save the Date Cards!

Make sure your guests keep your wedding date free by sending out save the date cards.

These little cards are essential if you are getting married in a seasonally busy time, such as the summer or Christmas holidays. By sending Save the Date cards you can ensure that your guests take into consideration your wedding date when planning their own holidays.

Save the Date cards are also useful if your guests need to travel for your wedding, giving them plenty of time to make arrangements, especially if you are marrying in a busy area where hotels and accommodation get booked up far in advance.

So what information should you include on your Save the Date cards? Well, traditionally, the cards are smaller than the actual wedding invitations and should include the wedding date and location (if known). You should also advise that a formal invitation will follow.  We've attached a couple of examples to give you an idea.
